Funk and all that Jazz
Footprints is, no doubt, my favourite party in Toronto. It's no wonder that they are the longest running party in the city! It's the spot to get down and boogie, whether you are a trained dancer or not. For me, this monthly event is very special to me. I've met my closest friends and my love at this party, and also learned how to loosen up and just connect with people and music at this event.
It's such an honour to be part of the Footprints team. I was asked to host in 2017. They recognized my work in the street dance community and later realized and respected my work in music! The team also found out I design majority of my event's flyers so they gave me the opportunity to contribute to the image.
Footprints branding is usually along the lines of warm, golden feel. I chose bright, bold colours for the 16th anniversary. I also drew the dancers in the flyer. Their based on pictures that Mark Valino took, the man behind the projections for the party. The inspirtation for the layout and typography are from Afro-funk and jazs records.
